Corel stamp by hrwilliams Corel stamp by hrwilliams
:bulletred: [link] :bulletred:

I've never liked Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. I started digital art with Corel Photo-Paint 8 (which I still use sometimes, even though it barely runs on Windows 7) and now I primarily use Corel Painter X, which has been buggy for me, but still amazing.

There aren't many Corel stamps, so I'm sharing the love.

Annnnd now it's a plz account!

My goodness, there is some Corel life on DA after all! :-) I've been using Corel DRAW since version 3, and I use version 8 now. I use Photo-Paint every day. :-) Interesting to hear about it on Windows 7. I have that OS, but haven't tried Corel DRAW on it. (I use XP primarily.) I have version 11 also, which I got for my MacBook, so perhaps I can use that on Windows 7.
So yep, nice stamp!

Oh lordy, I haven't used CorelDRAW since 2000 at the latest! And I was just a kid playing with the office computer. What do you do with it?

Corel Painter rocks my world. I'm glad there are people like you who appreciate it!

I use it for whatever crops up. Personal stuff mostly. As for Corel DRAW in particular: CD case covers, my website, base shapes for 3D scenes… anything that calls for vector based stuff really. And if I have a small bunch of pictures to print, I can organise them on the page too, so I can get as many onto the one sheet of paper. :D That’s usually for my diaries or my hand written story that I do. I’ve done a handful of fonts with it, but I don’t do them much.
As for Photo-Paint, everything else! :D Photo editing, textures for games, yeah, all my bitmap work, and just viewing pics as well.

Thanks for making it!
I started drawing digitally with Painter Essentials 4 and I am enjoying it. Now I am learning to use Painter 12.
A few years ago I tried Photoshop and I couldn't make heads or tails of it. Too complicated. Not for me.

I totally agree with you! :D I never learned how to use Photoshop and it seems too complicated, so for my drawing I use Corel! :) It's so easy to use (I'm learning still by myself, but it's easy indeed ^^)

Aaaaaaah Corel Painter! I have you! I just never use you :) I really really should though, it definitely has advantages over Photoshop. And Paint Shop Pro?!? Hahaha I thought people only used that for graphic design! Didn't know you could *actually* paint with it. Iiii feel dumb.

Haha! Maybe you CAN'T actually paint with PSP... what do I know? I've only ever known Corel. :B

Try Painter's watercolor feature, it's pretty awesomely realistic. And easier to fix. :D

Yeah I've played with it, it is indeed fantabulous. I guess I'm more comfortable with Photoshop, and that's why I keep running from Painter. I'll have to man up though.

I've used PSP maybe once, like, eight years ago. At that point it doesn't even count.

Corel is definitely NOT cheap, but I bought mine used on Amazon. Painter X was priced at $400 at the time, and I got it for $80.

Buuut, it's capable of some really gorgeous stuff. My art doesn't do it justice. Check out ~Level20Artist's work.

Sounds like you got a bargain! I think I paid about $375 (Australian) for Corel DRAW 11 in 2008, and Corel DRAW 8 was close to $900 in 1998 if I remember right. :-)

OH yeah. Corel is crazy expensive, right? And there is a reason for that! =}
Do you use it professionally?

More personally than anything. The closest to anything professional was just some minor editing on some photos I'm selling outside of DA.
